Big celebration

15.09.24 – Welcome to the Antonius Community: 36 young men and women celebrated the start of their training in the network on Friday, September 6, 2024.

The baby boomer generation is reaching retirement age. And Antonius will also see many employees retire in the coming years. This makes it all the more important for the network to recruit young specialists and enable them to start their careers with qualifications. For those responsible at Antonius, welcoming the new trainees was therefore a particular pleasure.

“Adapted training with training modules” 36 men and women are starting training in a wide range of areas – for example as a special needs nurse in a residential group or as an educator in the ambinius daycare center. Kathrin Müller, the director of the Startbahn work school and authorized representative at Perspektiva, emphasizes: “18 people with disabilities are also starting an adapted training with training modules.”

After a prayer with Father Thomas and a welcome from Steffen Heller, who heads the finance department at Antonius, the individual departments introduced “their” trainees and, together with Sister Santwana from the Order of Servants of the Poor, welcomed them warmly. The teachers from the vocational schools also came to the celebration and gained an insight into the work and interaction at Antonius.

“Doubt is also part of working life”

Steffen Heller encouraged the new trainees to be open and confident from the start: “Even though I wish you all great and exciting days, there will still be a bad day and you will ask yourself: Why am I doing this?” Doubts are also part of working life. It is important that you keep thinking about why you made the decision to start your training and that you seek help from your team and ask questions.” (Clock)+++
