Max Holloway reacts to ‘weird guy’ Ilia Topuria posing with mysterious BMF title: ‘He must have bought it’

Max Holloway calls forgeries on Ilya Topuria‘S recently shared the title of “Baddest Motherf*cker” (BMF).

The actual BMF titleholder Holloway won the belt in his last outing at lightweight against the fearsome challenger and now former BMF champion. Justin Gaethjeat UFC 300 in April 2024 (watch highlights). However, confusion arose when undisputed featherweight champion Topuria recently posted a video of himself holding both titles on Twitter.

Holloway, 32, came to the clear conclusion that “El Matador” had bought a replica. As the saying goes, “For Instagram?”

“That was weird, bro. This guy actually bought one,” Holloway told The Mac Life. “That’s next level, bro. I was like, how did he get it? He must have bought it because there are only a few originals and the guys that won it have the originals, so he must have bought one.”

“At the end of the day, he’s a weird guy,” he continued. “He’s a weird guy. Hey, whatever gets him going. Whatever confidence he needs. I want the best Ilia. Buy some more BMF belts. Buy some more UFC belts. Whatever you want to do. Just keep the same energy when it comes down to October 26th.”

It will be Topuria’s first title defense as champion when he and former champion Holloway meet in the main event of UFC 308 next month (Saturday, October 26, 2024). Topuria, 27, scored an impressive second-round knockout of the all-time great, Alexander Volkanovskyto take the throne at UFC 298 in February 2024 (watch highlights).

While the win against Gaethje extended Holloway’s overall winning streak to three (26-7), he won two consecutive featherweight titles against players such as Arnold Allen And Chan Sung Jung.
