The true crime adaptation of the popular podcast “Zeit Verbrechen” is moving: After leaving Paramount+, the series will now be shown exclusively on RTL+. It won its first prizes at the Berlinale.

The series adaptation of the popular true crime podcast Zeit Verbrechen has, after months of uncertainty, DWDL Finally found a new home. After the series was not released due to cost-cutting measures at Paramount+, RTL+ has now taken action and secured the rights to the production from X Filme Creative Pool. This means that crime fans will soon be able to watch the series exclusively on RTL Germany’s streaming service.

“Zeit Verbrechen” was already released at the Berlinale

The series premiered at the Berlinale in March and promptly received the German TV Crime Award for best crime series. Despite these early successes, the release was up in the air for a long time, as Paramount+ said goodbye to international projects such as “Zeit Verbrechen” and Turmschatten (which ended up on Sky). Now, however, RTL has confirmed that the series will start on RTL+, although an exact start date has not yet been announced.

This is what you can expect from the series “Zeit Verbrechen”

The series is based on the true crime podcast of the same name, which was launched by Sabine Rückert, deputy editor-in-chief of Die Zeit, and has enjoyed great popularity for more than six years. The adaptation includes four individual feature-length episodes, directed by young, talented directors such as Faraz Shariat and Helene Hegemann. The production promises to surprise with a fresh look at the crime genre and to delight not only fans of the podcast.

With the move to RTL+, “Zeit Verbrechen” now finally has the chance to reach a broad audience and captivate true crime fans in Germany. The project has apparently been finished filming and post-produced for several months.
