Before Stuttgart game: Real Madrid wins in San Sebastian

Thanks to the coolness of Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe, Champions League winners Real Madrid passed the dress rehearsal before the premier class duel with VfB Stuttgart.

With a penalty goal each, the two superstars led Real Madrid to a 2-0 (0-0) win at Real Sociedad on the fifth matchday of La Liga. Madrid remains unbeaten and the first pursuer of its rival FC Barcelona.

However, it took a while before Real could celebrate for the first time. Vinicius Junior (58th) gave them the lead in the second half with a penalty, and Mbappe (75th) increased the score to 2-0 with a penalty. Madrid remains in second place for the time being, one point behind Barca, but coach Hansi Flick’s team could increase the gap again on Sunday (4:15 p.m.) against Champions League participant FC Girona.

In an entertaining first half, the Madrilenians were very lucky twice not to risk falling behind.

First, Luka Sucic (25th) failed to hit the left post with a powerful shot, then the crossbar prevented a goal from Sheraldo Becker, former Union Berlin striker.

After the victory in the league, Madrid awaits VfB Stuttgart on Tuesday (9 p.m./Amazon Prime) for the start of the new Champions League season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
