Thousands of people celebrated Christopher Street Day in Halle without any major disruptions. “We were accompanied by many supporters. It seems that people have realized that the queer community is under threat from the right,” co-organizer Marcel Dörrer told the German Press Agency. On Saturday, the police initially spoke of 3,000 participants.

Before the event, the organizers had seen the CSD in danger. According to them, there were clear nationwide calls from right-wing extremists for disruptions during the Halle CSD.

According to police, a counter-demonstration with around 100 participants took place in the morning of the event. They travelled from all over Germany.
