Wettmannstätten loses 2-0 and shares the points with FC Ehrenhausen – Football Styria – Results, tables and scorers from all STMK leagues.

In a thrilling match in the West Regional League, UFC Wettmannstätten and FC Holcim PHP Management Ehrenhausen played out a 2-2 draw. Despite the hosts’ seemingly comfortable 2-0 half-time lead, Ehrenhausen managed to make up the deficit with an impressive second half. The match offered spectators exciting moments and two contrasting halves.

First half: Lorber double puts Wettmannstätten in the lead

The match began without any major highlights until UFC Wettmannstätten scored the first goal in the 11th minute. Timothy Lorber brought his team into the lead with 1:0 after a successful move. This was an important moment for the hosts, who now saw themselves at an advantage after the evenly matched opening phase.

As a result, the game developed into one that was intensely controlled by both sides, but without any further notable chances. It was only shortly before half-time that Lorber struck again. In the 41st minute, he increased the lead to 2-0 with a great goal, putting UFC Wettmannstätten in an excellent position for the second half.

The hosts went into the half-time break with this comfortable lead, while FC Ehrenhausen had to think hard for the second half to get back into the game.

Second half: Ehrenhausen fights back

After the break, FC Ehrenhausen showed a clear improvement in performance. The team came out of the dressing room with renewed vigor and pushed for a goal from the start. In the 73rd minute, they finally managed to score through Philipp Reschwho reduced the score to 2:1 with a dream goal from 30 meters. This goal brought fresh air into the game and put Wettmannstätten under pressure.

FC Ehrenhausen did not let up the pressure and continued to increase the score. The attempts were rewarded in the 86th minute when Stephan Petritsch He scored the much-celebrated equaliser. He was in the right place for a broken cross and pushed the ball over the line. The score was 2:2 and the game was once again completely open. Shortly before the end Jan Lipp a header – Ehrenhausen keeper Zan Rosker but held on with an incredible reflex.

In the remaining minutes, neither team managed to score the decisive goal and the match ended in a fair 2-2 draw. The final whistle in the 90th minute sealed the result.

UFC Wettmannstätten, who had gone into the match as league leaders with four wins from four games, had to settle for one point. FC Ehrenhausen showed why they should not be underestimated despite being in eleventh place in the table and deservedly earned this point.

In the second half we had the game under control, but the opponent came back into the game out of nowhere with a goal. There was also a bit of luck involved in the equaliser – so we have to accept sharing the points.

“The point was not undeserved based on the second half. Wettmannstätten failed to seal the deal in the first half. We started the second half with a completely different attitude and were able to secure the draw.”
