1. FC Saarbrücken still waiting for first home win

Third division football club FC Saarbrücken can no longer win at home. After two defeats, they only managed a 1:1 (1:1) draw against SpVgg Unterhaching. The visitors’ lead through Julian Kügel (29th minute) was equalized by Sven Sonnenberg (38th) in the Ludwigspark. With seven points now, the Saarlanders are slowly losing sight of the top of the table.

Saarbrücken started with a lot of energy and pushed for the lead early on. Simon Stehle (8th) had the chance to make it 1-0, but Haching’s U17 world and European champion goalkeeper Konstantin Heide prevented the goal. Up until then, the home team had been the dominant team in a rather mediocre encounter. The goal scored by the club came after a counterattack, making it all the more surprising.

But FCS was not impressed and created further chances. Sonnenberg took advantage of one after a corner. Tim Civeja missed a great opportunity to take the lead before half-time. After the restart, the game became increasingly flat. Good finishes were rare.
