Anastacia often travels to Solothurn in Switzerland – News

Singer Anastacia reveals what draws her to the region and what she thinks about Swiss German.

Anyone strolling through the streets of Solothurn might come across the US singer Anastacia. The singer regularly has her picture taken in a photo studio in the industrial area of the municipality of Langendorf.

But the shoot alone is not a reason for the American to travel to Solothurn: Behind the camera, her Swiss friend Nora Jeker is taking the singer’s press photos: “I met her when she was a visitor to my concerts. “She was often working as a photographer,” says Anastacia. “That was about 10 or 12 years ago. And it just developed like that. At first we worked together, then it became a friendship – and today it’s both. It feels like family now.

She is already a star, but my personal one.

Today, Nora Jeker is not only a good friend of the singer, but also her personal assistant: “She is super normal. But of course she is a star for me, but my personal one.”

And shopping trips together in Solothurn’s old town are not uncommon. Anastacia herself often goes shopping in Solothurn. However, she makes sure to dress in such a way that passers-by do not recognize her.

  • Anastacia is one of the most successful singers of the 2000s.
  • The American has achieved No. 1 hits in 19 countries during her career.
  • The 55-year-old has sold 30 million records worldwide to date.

The 55-year-old does not go unnoticed when filming with SRF presenter Joel Grolimund. However, passers-by are usually too reserved to ask her for a photo. As the two walk along the Aare, however, fans keep coming up who recognize the singer. The musician has been known all over the world since her hit “I’m Outta Love”.

I never took my career too seriously.

But this was not Anastacia’s only one. The American has been in the music business for over 20 years, and her singles “Paid My Dues” and “One Day in Your Life” have brought her success. Her eighth studio album, “Our Songs,” will be released on September 22nd.

Despite her success, the musician manages to stay grounded: “I think I never took my career too seriously. I never felt like I was better than anyone else because I was a famous person. To this day, I’m grateful that I can pursue my passion and that people want to see and hear me. I’m still that girl from Chicago.”

Nevertheless, the sun does not always shine in Anastacia’s life. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer twice. As a result, she has had breast tissue removed from both sides: “I’m feeling very good at the moment. Except – the menopause is worrying me, ladies. Not good at all, but we’ll manage. I think it’s important to talk about it, just like I talked about my cancer back then.”

Is Anastacia moving to Solothurn?

The singer currently answers this question with a “no”: “I don’t know if I will ever move to Solothurn. Luckily, I still have my mother, she loves Denver, where we currently live. I also have a sister there and a brother who suffers from a cognitive brain disorder. He is mentally 10 years old, but already 53. We want to make sure that he also has a happy life.”
