Man in serious condition; police launch investigation into attempted murder

To establish the circumstances of the incident, police launched an attempted murder investigation after the victim was found on George Street in the city at 11.55pm on Friday and taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: “Investigations are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with information that may assist the investigation to come forward.”

“If you have doorbell cameras, private video surveillance or a dashboard camera, please review your footage and bring anything important to our attention.

“We would also like to speak to those who assisted officers in locating the injured man. If you have not yet spoken to officers, please contact us.”

Witnesses are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 4560 of 13 September.
