Police investigate accident in Park Lane and launch appeal

The accident occurred last night shortly before 1 a.m. when a BMW 4201 collided with a parked Vauxhall Mokka.

Officers said the force of the impact caused the Vauxhall to be thrown backwards, striking the victim, a man in his 70s, who was in the back of his vehicle.

His condition is described as potentially life-threatening.

At 12.50pm, emergency services were called to Park Lane, Broughton, near Prestwich.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “It is believed that a BMW 420i was travelling north-east on Park Lane when it collided with a parked and stationary Vauxhall Mokka.”

“Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

“They would also like to speak to anyone who may have footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision, including footage from dashboard cameras, mobile phones or doorbells.”
