Surrey RCMP investigate after pedestrian hit and driver flees scene – BC News

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) of Surrey are investigating a car crash that left a pedestrian hospitalized with serious injuries.

Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha said police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the area of ​​124th Street and 68th Avenue at around 7:55 p.m. on Sept. 11.

“When officers arrived on scene, they found a male pedestrian who was transported to the hospital with life-changing injuries,” Sangha said in a press release.

The vehicle involved, a black 2021 Kia Sportage, fled the scene of the accident, but officers were able to locate the vehicle a short time later.

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) took over the lead of the investigation and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) was called in to assist.

The investigation to determine the events and possible factors that led to this collision is ongoing.
