With Oktagon 62 we’ll be presenting the biggest mixed martial arts event that Europe has ever seen,” said RTL CCO Inga Leschek. Viewers can expect a breathtaking show that perfectly complements RTL’s diverse sports portfolio of American football, soccer and motorsports.

In the main fight, Christian Eckerlin (record 16 wins, 6 losses) and Christian Jungwirth (15-8) will decide who will be the new “King of GerMMAny”. The two most popular fighters in the German MMA scene and their fans will create a unique atmosphere, but Oktagon 62 has a lot more to offer in terms of sport.

In the middleweight category (up to 84 kg) men are challengers Kerim Engizek from Düsseldorf and Champion Patrick Kincl The Czech (28-10) is one of the organization’s most renowned fighters and has been unbeaten for four fights. Engizek, on the other hand, is a real knockout machine and has an even more impressive record: he has been unbeaten since 2014 – since then he has won all 14 fights, 13 of which ended prematurely.

See you at Coga and Racic

Another highlight will be the fight between Max Coga and Antun Racic Coga and the former KSW champion Račić had already faced each other in the ring almost eleven years ago, with the Frankfurt native coming out on top. Now both will compete against each other again in the lightweight division (up to 70 kg).

Oktagon co-founder Pavol Neruda spoke of a new chapter for martial arts in Germany. “Just as previous generations revered boxing, today’s Oktagon MMA fighters are the new heroes. They inspire people to be athletic, persevere and have the fighting spirit that lies within each and every one of us. Together we want to present these values and leave a lasting mark on German sports culture.”

Mixed martial arts is one of the most exciting and fastest growing sports in the world, combining different fighting styles such as kickboxing, Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling and boxing. Fights are carried out according to a strict set of rules. Fights are decided either by “tapping out” (submission) or by knockout or technical knockout. If the fight goes beyond the set distance (normal fights: three rounds of five minutes each/title fights five rounds of five minutes each), the three judges decide.
