More security personnel for 503. Eisleber Wiese

This year, the number of security personnel at Eisleber Wiese has been increased due to the necessary checks. This was announced by the meadow’s owner Jörg Ahrend. The queues at the entrances should not be too long, he said. For this reason, two to four more men per day have been hired for the peak times on the main days and evenings.

Tradition since 1521
The Wiesenmarkt dates back to 1521, when a cattle and ox market was ordered to be held in Eisleben in the Mansfeld region. Over the centuries, the event, which took place annually with a few exceptions, developed into an ever larger spectacle. Today, the Eisleben Wiese is considered the largest folk festival in Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia.

What highlights does the 503rd Eisleben Meadow offer?

The festival weekend traditionally started on the market square on Friday. The parade with around 1,000 participants then moved to the festival meadow. There, Mayor Carsten Staub (independent) tapped the draft beer. The Halle band Joe Eimer & die Skrupellosen will also be performing on Friday.

Saturday begins with roll call and the riflemen’s parade at 9:30 a.m. From the market square, the parade goes to the riflemen’s square next to the festival tent. At 10:30 a.m., the bird shooting takes place on the riflemen’s square. In the evening, the 70s band Night Fever performs in the festival tent. Sunday begins at 9 a.m. with the meadow service in the festival tent. Afterwards, various musicians play.

When is the Eisleber Wiese open?

The Eisleben Wiesenmarkt officially began on Friday with the mayor tapping the first keg of beer in the festival tent at 3 p.m. It ends at 1 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday the festival opens at 10 a.m. and ends at 1 a.m. (Sunday 11 p.m.). On Monday guests can visit the festival grounds between 12 p.m. and midnight.

Where is the best place to park my car?

There are parking spaces for drivers at Wiesenmarkt (cost: 5 euros). From there it is only a few minutes’ walk to the festival grounds. To get there, visitors should go to Gerbstedter Chausee and then follow the signs.

According to the organizers, there are also park and ride parking spaces in commercial areas on Hallesche Strasse. Buses run from here. Parking and bus rides cost 2 euros per person (children up to 12 years old are free).

B80 near Lüttchendorf reopened after construction work

Just in time for the start of the Eisleber Wiese, the B80 between Lüttchendorf and Eisleben was reopened to traffic. The reason for the closure was construction work on three bridges along the B80, according to the State Ministry of Infrastructure. The state spent more than half a million euros on the construction work.

How do I get to Eisleber Wiese by train?

According to the organizers, visitors can reach the Eisleben meadow every 30 minutes from both Halle and Sangerhausen. Trains will run on Saturday and Sunday nights: 0.39 a.m. and 1.39 a.m. from Eisleben to Halle, 1.53 a.m. from Eisleben to Sangerhausen.

According to the organizers, free buses will run from the train station to the event site. However, only those who can show a train ticket will be allowed to ride on them.
