Amazon announces Prime Day for October 2nd

As in previous years, there will be a second Prime Day in 2024. The so-called Prime Big Deal Days are just around the corner and herald the high shopping season, which, like every year, reaches its peak with Black Friday.

When is the 2nd Prime Day on Amazon 2024?

Amazon has already announced the 2nd Prime Day of the year for October 2024. The shipping giant has not yet announced a specific date for the so-called Prime Big Deal Days, but we are assuming two possible dates: As in the past (and as with the “normal” Prime Days in July), the discount inferno will take place on a Tuesday and Wednesday. The most likely dates are 8 and 9 October or the following week, so 15 and 16 October.

What’s special about Prime Day and how much can you save?

The special thing about Prime Days is that Amazon reduces the prices of countless products from almost all categories. If you are looking for a deal on a television, smartphone or washing machine, you will find it on Amazon Prime Days, as well as on fashion, toys, bed linen, books, kettles and so much more. There is (almost) nothing that you cannot find reduced.

Basically, you can save a lot on the Prime Big Deal Days in October. However, the prerequisite is that you have a Prime subscription with Amazon, because only then can you benefit from the reduced prices on the shopping days of Prime Day. Prices on Amazon during Prime Days can drop by up to 30 percent or even more. That’s not a small amount and at first glance always looks like a now-or-never bargain. And yes, you can save, sometimes a lot. But it’s important not to let the discounts blind you. It’s not unusual for retailers to raise prices before shopping events so that they can be given impressive discount figures a few days later. Be careful when hunting for discounts – it’s always worth comparing.

Are Apple products cheaper on the 2nd Prime Day?

Apple products can also be cheaper on the 2nd Prime Day 2024. The past discount campaigns at Amazon have always included Apple products. Traditionally, the Apple AirTags and the AirPods Pro are particularly popular at the shopping events, also because they are reduced.

However, we cannot guarantee anything, we can only draw conclusions from the past Prime Days. What we can say with certainty is that the latest Apple products, such as the recently announced iPhone 16, will not be reduced. Older iPhone models, however, could get a discount label.

Is the PS5 cheaper on Prime Day?

In September, Sony officially announced the release of the PS5 Pro. It will be released in November, just in time for the Christmas season. Therefore, you will not be able to buy the PS5 Pro during the Prime Big Deal Days.

The regular PS5 could, however, be on offer. The console has been available at a reduced and very good price since Prime Day in July. The fact that the PS5 will also be cheaper in October is probably due to the release of the PS5 Pro. But as with Apple products, the same applies here: wait and see what Amazon is offering on the Prime Big Deal Days.
