Microsoft’s 365 service was down after users reported outages

Microsoft said it was experiencing technical issues with its 365 subscription service after users reported outages early Thursday morning.

“We are investigating an issue where users may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services,” the company wrote on its X account Thursday morning.

“For further details and updates please visit the Admin Center at MO888473.”

Outage monitoring website Downdetector reported that more than 22,800 Microsoft 365 users said they had problems accessing the service in the past 24 hours.

By 10:30 a.m. Eastern time, the number of reported outages had dropped to fewer than 2,000.

Microsoft posted an update on social media stating that “a change in the managed environment of a third-party ISP (Internet Service Provider) had an impact.”

The company added that the IPS “has reversed the change and we are now seeing signs of recovery.”
