How to make peace lilies bloom quickly and create an explosion of flowers

Peace lilies are considered easy to care for, but getting them to bloom is no picnic if you don’t understand their needs.

Caring for a peace lily does not require much effort, as it is happy with dry soil and can thrive in most lighting conditions.

However, they won’t produce their signature white flowers if you don’t take the time to give them everything they need to thrive.

While you can use special houseplant fertilizer for peace lilies to fertilize these houseplants, one plant expert claimed that using rice flour would cause your peace lily to “explode with so many blooms.”

Rice contains many different nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron and sulfur, making it an excellent choice for peace lilies.

A gardening and houseplant expert captioned a video on his YouTube account Plant Tips as follows: “Amazing result: With one cup of rice flour you can grow a peace lily and it explodes with so many flowers.”

In the video, the expert first shows the end result of the fertilization tip, which shows the peace lily with over nine healthy and bright white flowers.

The expert then showed what the peace lily looked like before it faded. The plant was wilted, had no flowers and was full of dead leaves.

To fix this, the expert took the peace lily out of the container, propagated it and repotted the plant in a potting mix made of perlite, coconut fiber, soil, rice hulls and fertilizer.

The plant expert first mixed water with a cup of rice flour to create a thin solution, which was then used to clean the leaves. The rice-water mixture was then poured over the plant’s potting soil.

Two months later, two flowers had sprouted from the peace lily and the leaves were noticeably greener.

The specialist continued to water the peace lily with the rice flour solution and even sprayed the top of the plant with a spray bottle.

Three months later, the peace lily was bursting with blooms and looked healthier than ever.

Although the expert did not specify exactly how often the peace lily was watered with the rice flour solution, it is recommended to use it sparingly. Due to the risk of starch buildup, it is best to water your plants with rice water only once a month.

If you don’t use rice water, you should give him regular tap water or rainwater.
