In the trailer for “Salem’s Lot,” Lewis Pullman’s hometown is haunted by a vampire

Max finally released the first trailer for Salem’s Lotthe adaptation of Stephen King’s classic vampire novel from 1975, directed by Gary Dauberman (It franchise) and announced that the film will premiere on the streamer on Thursday, October 3.

In Salem’s LotIn this novel, author Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) returns to his childhood home, Jerusalem’s Lot, in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover that his hometown is haunted by a bloodthirsty vampire.

Other cast members include Alfre Woodard, Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Spencer Treat Clark, Pilou Asbæk and John Benjamin Hickey.

While some feared that Warner Bros Discovery’s New Line title would be shelved after moving away from theaters, à la BatgirlThe official premiere of the project on Max was already planned for March.

Dauberman directed from his own screenplay and served as executive producer. Producers included James Wan and Michael Clear for Atomic Monster, Roy Lee for Vertigo, and Mark Wolper.

A cornerstone of the work of horror master King, Salem’s Lot was the author’s first major foray into vampire literature and his second published novel, after CarrieThe book laid the foundation for King’s shared universe, as characters and places from Salem’s Lot appeared in later works such as The Dark Tower series. It was adapted as a CBS miniseries in 1979, directed by Tobe Hooper and starring David Soul and James Mason.
