Mark Hamill brings his wife Marilou York and daughter Chelsea to the premiere of “Wild Robot”

Mark Hamill was surrounded by his family to support him on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival.

At Roy Thomson Hall on Sunday, September 8, Hamill, 72, posed with his wife Marilou York and their daughter Chelsea at the world premiere of his animated film The wild robot.

The couple, who married in 1978, have three adult children: Chelsea, Nathan and Griffin.

The wild robot is an “epic adventure” directed by Chris Sanders that “follows the journey of a robot – ROZZUM Unit 7134, or ‘Roz’ for short – who is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh environment, gradually building relationships with the island’s animals and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.”

In addition to Hamill, the voice cast includes Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Bill Nighy, Kit Connor, Stephanie Hsu, Matt Berry and Ving Rhames.

Hamill is also at TIFF to support his film The life of Chuckan adaptation by Stephen King. On Instagram, he shared a photo of himself at the world premiere on September 6, sitting excitedly next to the 76-year-old King.

“It’s not often that I get to sit next to a literary genius and one of my all-time favorite authors: Stephen King,” Hamill wrote. “It took every ounce of discipline I had not to freak out and expose myself as the weak, submissive fanboy that I really am.”

In February star Wars The actor celebrated his wife’s birthday and wrote on Instagram: “Marilou, you are my dream forever and are younger in spirit today than when I met you. Wishing you the happiest of birthdays.”

On the occasion of their 45th wedding anniversary in December 2023, Hamill wrote that he was “eternally grateful” that Marilou said “yes,” and the actor called her the “love of my life.”

The wild robot will be in cinemas on September 27th.
