Coroner says drowning was the cause of death for man found in Fox River

Coroner says drowning was the cause of death for man found in Fox River

WAUKESHA – The man whose body was found in the Fox River in Frame Park a week ago died by drowning, authorities said Thursday.

Scott W. Yehle, 63, whose body was discovered by city parks officials and whose clothing was found near the riverbank, apparently entered the river before 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 5 somewhere near the Riverwalk trailhead south of Moreland Boulevard.

Waukesha police confirmed the suspected cause of death, although the final autopsy report from the Waukesha County Medical Examiner is not yet complete. The drowning is being ruled an accident, police Capt. Dan Baumann said in an email to media.

Police had previously stated that Yehle was wearing shorts when he was found and that there were no signs of injuries on his body.

Although the time of death will likely be indicated in the coroner’s report, this information was not immediately available.
