Laura Loomer accompanies Trump to the 9/11 memorial

Conspiracy theorists and MAGA supporter Laura Loomer accompanied former President Donald Trump to a 9/11 memorial event in Manhattan on Wednesday. Loomer is best known for chaining herself to the doors of Twitter headquarters after being banned from the platform and spreading conspiracy theories – including about the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Last year, Loomer tweeted a long post with a video claiming, “9/11 was an inside job!” The video accused former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld of helping orchestrate the attacks.

Loomer’s appearance at the memorial was not the first time she had been spotted near Trump and his inner circle. On Tuesday, Loomer traveled on Trump’s private jet to the debate between the former president and Vice President Kamala Harris in Philadelphia.

The pairing has caused a stir even in Trump’s circles. In April last year, members of Trump’s circle revolted after reports emerged that the former president had asked his staff to find Loomer a role in his campaign. “The president has certainly known who I am for many years,” Loomer said. Rolling Stone, and added that she would be “honored” if she were offered a role.

“Hell no,” said a Trump adviser Rolling Stone when asked about the matter.

Similar resistance is taking place now that Loomer was spotted in Trump’s entourage this week. “Despite all the protective walls the Trump campaign has put on her, I don’t think it’s working,” a person close to the Trump campaign told Semafor. on Wednesday.

Another Republican strategist told the newspaper that Trump’s poor performance in the debate against Harris may have been influenced by the people he surrounds himself with, like Loomer. “This is what happens when you improvise, live in the Fox News-X bubble and rely on Matt Gaetz, not to mention Laura Loomer,” they said.

Axios reported Wednesday that Loomer “incited” Trump during the flight to the debate by making false claims that illegal immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, were eating cats and pets. Trump repeated that claim during the debate.

Tensions over Loomer’s connection to the campaign boiled over publicly on Wednesday night, when Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia confronted Loomer over a post that said if the vice president won in November, “the White House would smell like curry and White House speeches would be conducted through a call center.”

Greene wrote that the post was “appalling and extremely racist” and “does not represent who we are as Republicans or MAGA.”

“This does not represent President Trump,” Greene wrote. “This type of behavior should never be tolerated.”

Loomer responded with a vitriolic tirade attacking Green’s own past of racism and conspiracy theories, as well as her personal life.

“Once again @mtgreenee, who is extremely jealous and vindictive because she failed to turn Donald Trump against me, is acting like a leftist and accusing me of being ‘racist,'” she wrote.

Loomer did not respond to a request for comment from Rolling Stone, However, in a separate post, she claimed that she had no official connection to the Trump campaign.

“The answer to the many reporters calling me and begging me to speak to them today is no,” she wrote. “I do not work for President Trump. In fact, I do not work for anyone.”

“I’m just a loyal advocate. The number of calls I’ve received today is very bizarre. People are allowed to have friends. People are allowed to travel. People can be selfless,” she added. “A selfless person cannot build a relationship with a purely business person. They slander because they’re afraid. But I don’t fear them.”
