When it comes to style inspiration, it’s no longer just the runways of New York Fashion Week that give us new trends. Away from the front row, the streets are also transformed into catwalks and present us with the hottest trends that have taken New York by storm.

New York Fashion Week has once again given us a good portion of style inspiration this year. While it will still be a while before the trendy catwalk designs are available in stores, the visitors have already provided numerous fashion inspirations that we can easily integrate into our wardrobes. The best thing: These trends are not only super popular, but also absolutely wearable for fashion beginners – we promise!

Trend colour aubergine

Last autumn and winter, Bordeaux red was everywhere. Whether in the form of subtle accessories or absolute eye-catchers such as coats or blazers – the dark red tone has taken fashionistas’ wardrobes by storm. This winter there is a new trend color that could easily pass as the little sister of the red tone: aubergine. The difference: the autumnal tone is a little cooler and leans a little more towards purple. Statement coats are at the forefront or, for the very brave, a total look from head to toe in the trendy color. But don’t panic, your favorite pieces in trendy Bordeaux red should continue to be worn diligently this winter.

Suede quite tame

This winter, suede isn’t so wild anymore. Because if you think of fringes and the Wild West when you think of the rough trend material, you’re wrong. This autumn and winter, we’ll be wearing suede in a much more elegant, classic and timeless way. We find the material in handbags, like the trendy Margaux bag from The Row, which took the internet by storm, or as chic blazers, as Merve Görgöz shows us on the streets of Manhattan. Important: Clear lines and silhouettes make the trend even more elegant and high-quality. The rule here is: less is more.

Every year again

Autumn is coming, the leaves are falling from the trees and we are swapping our light jeans for elegant raw denim. When it comes to denim, the wheel hasn’t really been reinvented in recent years, but we look forward to certain denim pieces every season. Especially in winter, the cuts of our jeans become a little clearer, we say goodbye to low-rise and casual cut-outs and increasingly opt for dark washes that look particularly elegant. This is also the case with Kate Barlett, who manages to embody business instead of construction site in her denim overalls. Our tip: Silver jewelry instead of gold makes the combination look particularly contemporary.

Courage to be narrow-minded

Actually, “bourgeois” is not exactly an adjective that one would want to aspire to with one’s style. But some visitors to Fashion Week in New York show us that bourgeois does not necessarily have to mean unfashionable. We now wear buttoned cardigans in mouse grey, crocheted sweater vests over elegant blouses or sleeveless knitted vests.

The trick is in the combination: wide trousers – preferably significantly oversized – give the look coolness and that certain it factor.
