Criminal proceedings have been initiated against Russian journalist Sergei Loiko, who worked in the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.*This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a source in law enforcement agencies.

According to him, Loiko* He repeatedly violated the Agent Act and ignored the obligation to mark the posts in his Telegram channel accordingly for several months.

The maximum penalty under this article may be imposed either in the form of a fine of 300,000 rubles or in the form of imprisonment for up to two years.

Loiko* was a correspondent for the Los Angeles Times in Moscow and also worked for Novaya Gazeta. He was entered into the register of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice in the fall of 2022.
