Europa-Park Rust: Passengers sat on the roller coaster for 40 minutes

Europa-Park Rust: Passengers sat on the roller coaster for 40 minutes

In Europa-Park near Rust, the roller coaster “Blue Fire” simply stopped in the middle of the ride. Passengers were stuck for a total of 40 minutes.

The track had remained tilted sideways before the first climb. A total of 20 people were affected, said a spokesperson for the park.

Roller coaster reopened

The train was later put back into operation. “The problem has been solved.” The train was carefully analyzed. A small part required for the magnetic start was weakened and replaced.

No danger for passengers

“A train on the roller coaster was unable to overcome the first climbs at around 1 p.m. due to low energy at the start and came to a standstill there,” said the spokesman. The train was therefore able to be driven back as planned so that guests could leave the ride on the ground. “At no time did a dangerous situation arise. The safety and well-being of guests are always the top priority for Europa-Park.”

Repeated incident at the “Blue Fire”

This is not the first incident with the roller coaster. The “Blue Fire” had already failed to complete a curve in April and rolled back four times. A spokeswoman for the park spoke at the time of a so-called rollback.

Technical reasons identified in April

At the time, technical reasons were identified. The roller coaster rolled back twice with passengers. After that, there were two attempts without passengers. The error was corrected, it was said. Europa-Park in Rust near Freiburg is Germany’s largest amusement park.
