U.S. Customs and Border Protection releases report on response to Robb Elementary School shooting

UVALDE, Texas – United States Customs and Border Protection will release a report on how the agency responded to the May 24, 2022, shooting in Uvalde, Texas, according to an agency spokesperson.

The agency did not say when the report would be released.

At Robb Elementary School, 19 children and two teachers were killed. It took police more than 77 minutes to catch the shooter.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection official said there was an exchange of fire between the border patrol tactical unit and the shooter.

Although the name has not been released publicly, it is reported that a US Border Patrol agent killed the shooter.

Back in 2022, CBP had released images to ABC News showing the injuries an agent sustained after an exchange of fire with the gunman.

A family member of a victim at Robb Elementary told KSAT they are meeting with CBP about the report. KSAT has also contacted several other family members.

This is a developing story. KSAT will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
