Start of the new season with “The Reader”

Start of the new season with “The Reader”

LINZ. The Tribüne is starting the new season with its own production: “The Reader” by Bernhard Schlink will premiere on Thursday, October 3rd at 7:30 p.m. Tipps is giving away 3×2 free tickets.

Schlink’s 1995 novel is dedicated to the consequences of National Socialism and the generational conflict in the post-war period. It shows in a touching way how distressing the past can be and how necessary it is to deal with it honestly.

Michael is a student, Hanna is more than twice his age. Their daily ritual: reading aloud, showering, making love and lying together for a while. Hanna, who is taciturn, is a good listener. Michael grows up in her arms. She won’t let him go for a long time, even if she disappears from the city after a few months. After years, Michael meets her again. At a Nazi trial that he attended as a law student. Hanna is in the dock as a former concentration camp guard. But there is something else that she has kept from him. When Michael discovers Hanna’s second big secret, he falls into a deep inner conflict…

And so it goes on

The revivals of “Out! “Trapped in the Net” (from October 9th) and “Malala” (from October 14th) for schools will be followed from December 12th by the second own premiere and, in a row, the New Year’s Eve play with “Little Marriage Crimes” by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt.

Of course, the Tribune will also be opening its doors again for beloved guest performances. On November 16, the Etty cultural association will be celebrating the premiere of “Sex in Linz – a real satire with heart, humor and depth.” Where would this piece be better placed than in the Tribune. After all, it was there, in the former Eisenhand porn cinema, that the history of the sex business in Linz began.
