Luke Mockridge’s tour start on Thursday in Bünde has also been canceled following massive criticism of the comedian.

But no “Funny Times”: Luke Mockridge (35) is facing further consequences for his anti-disabled jokes. The tour start tomorrow, Thursday (September 12th) in the East Westphalian Stadtgarten Bünde has been cancelled, as can be seen on the ticket platform “eventim” among others. There, the event is now declared “cancelled”.

Six comedy performances on the upcoming tour had already been cancelled on Tuesday (September 10). The organisers or venues had cancelled the partially sold-out shows on September 14 in Mainz, October 15 and 16 in Bonn, October 17 in Siegen and October 25 and 26 in Gelsenkirchen. The next event on the “Funny Times” tour will take place on September 25 in Munich. Mockridge is expected to be on the road with his “Funny Times” tour until November 9.

TV comeback also canceled

Mockridge is currently under fire for his statements in a podcast episode of “Die Deutschen” published in mid-August. He had made fun of people with disabilities on the occasion of the Paralympic Games. He then apologized in a statement on Instagram and defended himself against the accusations of hostility towards people with disabilities. It was never his intention to ridicule people with disabilities, Mockridge writes in a clip from his last tour in which he tells similar jokes. It didn’t help much.

Most recently, Sat.1 also cancelled his new TV show “What’s in the Box?”, which was supposed to mark his TV comeback on September 12. The broadcaster gave the reason that Mockridge’s words about para-athletes did not fit with Sat.1’s values.
