Current polls put the AfD in the lead, followed by the SPD and CDU. Sahra Wagenknecht’s new coalition is receiving a lot of support, while the Greens and the Left are worried about being re-elected to parliament.

Interested readers were able to register for the event in advance and submit questions. The moderators will incorporate these. The event will be broadcast live on MAZ-online and the MAZ Facebook page.

A discussion with eight leading candidates is not easy, but unavoidable given the division of the party landscape. Therefore, there will be clear rules and time limits to ensure that all participants have a chance to speak. In addition, there will be in-depth discussions in smaller groups on specific topics. Editor-in-chief Lohmar: “We want to help the people of Brandenburg to form an opinion on the parties’ positions in order to make their voting decision well informed.”

* The AfD’s top candidate, Hans-Christoph Berndt, who had initially been invited, has cancelled his participation in the MAZ election talk at short notice
