Microsoft warns of dangerous Windows 10 loophole

Microsoft warnt vor einer Schwachstelle in Windows 10. Sie ermöglicht es Hackern, installierte Sicherheitsupdates zu löschen. Damit können eigentlich gestopfte Schlupflöcher in dem Programm wieder geöffnet und ausgenutzt werden.

Unternehmensrechner betroffen

Betroffen sind die Enterprise-Varianten von Windows 10 with system version 1507. The error mainly affects corporate PCs. Microsoft assumes that the vulnerability can be found on computers with the monthly security updates from March 2024 to August 2024. The recently released Patchday patch for September is supposed to fix the error.[–>Windows 11 is not affected.

Updates sorgen für Abhilfe

Um das Schlupfloch zu schließen, gibt es also eine Lösung: Anwender oder IT-Abteilungen sollen auf betroffenen Geräten zunächst ein Update des Servicing Stack mit der Kennung “SSU KB5043936” and then install the latest September security update with the identifier “[–>KB5043083” install.
