Ekki was offered a “tax CD” that allegedly incriminated everyone of note in Münster. Wilsberg is supposed to help Ekki to check his credibility. When the press gets wind of the “tax evader CD”, the first voluntary disclosure arrives at the tax office. The real estate entrepreneur Ehrenberg wants to come clean. But before he can do so, he is dead. Wilsberg and Ekki do not believe it was suicide, even if it looks like it for Anna Springer and Overbeck. Through Ehrenberg’s files, they come across a run-down forest restaurant where workers are housed. Workers who work for the “Bestfleisch” slaughterhouse, but are employed by a subcontractor Maywald. The tax CD sample that Ekki finally receives from a “Laura” also incriminates Maywald heavily. In order to limit the damage to his image, “Bestfleisch” managing director Jan Lindemann and his experienced lawyer Elisabeth Böhnisch decide to end their collaboration with Maywald immediately. But when the body of a “Bestfleisch” worker is found in the Aasee, it becomes clear that a larger crime is underway.
