The PCB had sent a preliminary schedule to the ICC some time ago, proposing to make Lahore the home of the Indian team.

An ICC delegation scheduled to visit Pakistan this month to review preparations for the Champions Trophy will also discuss the event’s provisional schedule with the Pakistan Cricket Association.

A source familiar with the developments said the PCB had not yet been told how many ICC officials would attend and which departments they would represent, but there were indications that the schedule would be discussed in detail.

The PCB had sent a preliminary schedule to the ICC some time ago, proposing to make Lahore the home of the Indian team.

“The schedule has now been submitted to the bodies participating in the Champions Trophy and there is still some work to be done before it is finalised and announced,” the source said.

“Of course, an important reason why the schedule is still under review is the final decision as to whether the Indian government will grant the team permission to play in Pakistan,” he added.

The ICC delegation will inspect ongoing development work at the Champions Trophy tournament venues in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi, as well as meet with security officials and review broadcast arrangements, team hotels and travel itineraries.

With BCCI secretary Jay Shah set to take over as ICC chairman from December 1, the source said the schedule for the Champions Trophy will be released late, as was the case for last year’s World Cup in India.
