Police are looking for witnesses to an accident in Wimborne where an accident could not be avoided

Dorset Police received a report at 7.05am on Monday 9 September that a grey Skoda Octavia failed to stop after colliding with a bollard on Smugglers Lane in the Coleshill area of ​​the city.

After further investigation, officers were able to locate and impound the vehicle near the Canford Bottom roundabout. A 34-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of traffic and drug offences.

He was released on bail while officials continue their investigation.

Constable Steve Hall of Dorset Police said: “We are investigating this incident and our enquiries indicate that there were two key witnesses in the area at the time of the collision who we would like to speak to and record their account of the incident.”

“I am also keen to hear from drivers who were travelling nearby and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

“In addition, I would like to ask all residents in the area to check their doorbell or security cameras to see if they recorded anything relevant to our investigation.”
