At around 12:30 a.m., a resident of the apartment building alerted the police after hearing a loud argument coming from the 47-year-old’s apartment.

According to the police, the argument escalated, after which Yvonne M. allegedly inflicted fatal stab wounds on her partner.

The arriving officers found the slightly injured and obviously intoxicated woman in the stairwell. In the apartment they discovered the seriously injured man, who succumbed to his injuries despite immediate emergency surgery in the hospital. Yvonne M. was arrested as a suspect that same night.

The neighbors are deeply shocked. Thomas Toth (53) and his partner heard the screams on the night of the crime: “They rang several neighbors’ doorbells and screamed,” said Toth. They also tried to kick down a door in the house. “We are stunned that something like this happened here.”

There are said to have been heated arguments between Yvonne M. and her partner in the past. The woman was apparently drunk and is said to be suffering from a mental illness.
