Nino de Angelo in the Hofwiesenpark in Gera

Gera. On his tour of Germany, pop singer Nino de Angelo will be performing at the train station in Gera on Friday, September 13th, from 7:30 p.m. On the stage in Hofwiesenpark, the 60-year-old will perform the biggest hits of his 40-year career live with the band, including the songs from his successful album “Blessed and Cursed” and the latest CD “From Eternity to Eternity”. “Day on wheels” for the Gera schools

GeraIn the “Year of School Sports 2024”, the East Thuringia School Authority, together with the Gera roller skating club Blau-Weiß, is holding the “Day on Wheels” on Tuesday, September 17th. Students and teachers from all primary, regular, community, special needs and vocational schools and integrated comprehensive schools in Gera and the surrounding area can take part. Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., various competitions will be held for the participants on the speed skating track in the Ufer-Elster-Park. The fastest skaters in the various age groups will be determined in the 20-meter sprint. An endurance competition will take place at the same time. In cooperation with a Gera shooting club, a biathlon relay will also be held. In three competition classes, two girls and two boys from each school will form a relay. Each participant runs one lap, then five shots are fired with the laser rifle. Helmets and complete protective equipment must be worn. Inline skates, helmets and protective equipment can be rented on site by prior arrangement. (UB)

Attempted break-in at the Ronneburg company

RonnenbergBetween August 22nd and September 9th, unknown persons attempted to break into a company on the street “Am Kühlen Grund” in Ronneburg via scaffolding. The police have reported this. The attempt failed, but caused property damage in the low five-figure range. The Gera police are investigating and are looking for witnesses, telephone 0365 / 8290.

Training for road users

GeraA road user training session with the Gera Road Safety Association will take place on Monday, September 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the sports room at the sports field at Zwickauer Strasse 7 in Gera-Liebschwitz. The district mayor will provide information about this.

Action day to secure skilled workers in the Gera Arcaden

GeraAs part of the nationwide campaign weeks to secure skilled workers from September 16th to 29th, the Thuringia East Employment Agency will be present with an information stand in the Gera Arcaden on Thursday, September 19th, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to advise interested parties on questions of career change and reorientation, as well as to give tips on training and further education opportunities, funding initiatives and current trends in the local job market. The aim is to talk to career advisors in an informal atmosphere and outside the employment agency. The employment agency stand can be found in the Gera Arcaden on the open space on the first floor opposite the ice cream parlor.

Virtuoso music for cello and guitar in Weida

WeidaOn Sunday, September 15th, at 11 a.m., Ariana Burstein (cello) and Roberto Legnani (guitar) will be guests in Weida in the Balkensaal of the Osterburg. The program includes arrangements of classical masterpieces by Giuseppe Tartini, Antonio Vivaldi, Claude Debussy, Pablo de Sarasate, Isaac Albéniz, and compositions by Roberto Legnani. The cello built by Konrad Stoll and the award-winning Hopf guitar “La Portentosa” are examples of high instrument making skills. During the concert break, CDs by the artists will be available. Special concert in St. Veit

WünsdorfThe parish of St. Veit invites you to a special concert on Friday, September 13th, with the university organist Daniel Beilschmidt from Leipzig. He is also the organist of the large Troitorgel in the Altenburg Castle Church. At the organ concert in the Wünschendorfer St. Veit’s Church he will play works by Pachelbel, Kuhlau, Handel and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, among others. Admission is free, but a collection is requested. Bad Köstritzer guest performance in Zeitz
