2. Minute: The Netherlands takes the lead with the first shot of the party! The German defense is completely written off, so Gravenberch can relax and pass to Reijnders, who then runs alone towards ter Stegen and scores past him.

2nd minute: A horrific start for the DFB team! After less than two minutes, Germany is behind.

1st minute: Davide Massa signals the game’s start, the ball is rolling in Amsterdam!

20:41: The players come out of the tunnel and get ready to sing the national anthems.

20:30: Julian Nagelsmann sees good chances for Germany

Before the start of the game, national coach Julian Nagelsmann highlighted the qualities of the Dutch team on the RTL microphone.

“They have good one-on-one players and are extremely dangerous in transition situations,” said the 37-year-old, so they shouldn’t be given much space. He was confident about the Germans’ chances: “If we can do that, I think we’ll have a good attitude to the game and win.”

Regarding the use of Deniz Undav, the national coach explained that they had of course considered moving Havertz forward. “But we have deliberately left him there,” said Nagelsmann. Undav is the right type of player against physically strong Dutch players.

He is expecting a special evening in Amsterdam: “Now here in Amsterdam there is a special stadium with a special name and a duel with big, historic matches. I think there is a lot to it and it will be an exciting evening.”

20:17: First Germany game for referee Davide Massa

The referee for today’s match is the Italian Davide Massa (43).

Massa has not yet refereed a German game, but some players may still know the Italian: last season, he refereed a Champions League match between FC Bayern and Galatasaray Istanbul as well as RB Leipzig’s 1:1 draw in the second leg of the round of 16 against Real Madrid, where he attracted attention with questionable decisions.

8pm: The Netherlands line-up is here

Like his colleagues, Ronald Koeman is also relying on continuity. Compared to the 5-2 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina, he only replaced striker Joshua Zirkzee (23) for Brian Brobbey (22).

With Leipzig’s Xavi Simons (21), only one Bundesliga player is in the Oranje starting eleven.

19:45: This eleven sends Julian Nagelsmann into the race

The line-up of the German national team is here! Julian Nagelsmann is relying mainly on the eleven that performed against Hungary.

But instead of putting Kai Havertz in the center of the attack for the injured Niclas Füllkrug, he gives a starting eleven debutant the chance to show himself: Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav (28) makes his fourth DFB appearance, his first from the start.

Otherwise, Nagelsmann sticks to the saying “Never change a winning team”.

19:05: Julian Nagelsmann will change little after the 5-0 victory

The national coach is forced to make one substitution due to the absence of Niclas Füllkrug, but otherwise he will not tinker much with his successful eleven.

“It worked well against Hungary,” said Julian Nagelsmann at the final press conference on Monday, adding that he did not plan to make any major tactical or personnel changes.

In addition to Kai Havertz, who is likely to move into the center of the attack for Füllkrug and could himself be replaced by Maximilian Beier (21), the most likely place for a change is in central midfield: This is where Aleksandar Pavlovic (20) could make his starting eleven debut.

17:55: Trouble in the Netherlands before duel with Germany

While the mood within the DFB team is currently being praised again and again, things are a little different for the Netherlands.

On Sunday, the day after the 5:2 victory against Bosnia and Herzegovina, there was a big argument during the Elftal’s training session. Former Bundesliga striker Wout Weghorst (32) got into such a fight with Jurriën Timber (23) that national coach Ronald Koeman (61) had to intervene.

As a result, Weghorst apparently left training immediately after the session ended, dropped his shirt on the ground and rushed off the training pitch while the rest of the team was still assembled. A bad omen for the game against the DFB selection?

16:55: Germany recently had good memories of the Netherlands

Although today’s opponent from the Netherlands is nominally the Germans’ biggest competitor for first place in their Nations League group, the last duel between the two teams gives hope!

The 2-1 victory in March was the beginning of the resurrection of the German national team. For the first time, the new goal anthem “Major Tom” blared from the stadium loudspeakers, the euphoria before the home European Championship was awakened and the now legendary pink jerseys were worn on the pitch for the first time.

The overall record between the two teams is also on the German side: Of 46 games, 17 went to the DFB team, twelve to the Elftal, and 17 ended in a draw.

4 p.m.: Julian Nagelsmann has to do without Niclas Füllkrug

Welcome to our live ticker! In the second game of the Nations League, the German national team will face the Netherlands.

However, Julian Nagelsmann will have to do without an important pillar of the team: Goalgetter Niclas Füllkrug (31), who scored the opening goal against Hungary, is suffering from Achilles tendon irritation and is therefore out. The striker, who recently played in the Premier League for West Ham United, has already left the national team early.

It was particularly bitter for the 31-year-old: after playing a joker role at the European Championships, he was allowed to play from the start against Hungary. Due to the loss of the former BVB striker, Kai Havertz (25) is now likely to start in the center of the attack again.
