The time has come: As expected, Apple introduced the new iPhone 16 on Monday evening. At an event entitled “It’s Glowtime” in Cupertino, California, Apple CEO Tim Cook presented not only the smartphone but also other new models such as the Apple Watch Series 10 and the new generation of AirPods.

The new iPhones can be pre-ordered from next Friday, September 13, at 2 p.m.However, pre-orders for the new Apple Watch and AirPods 4 are now possible. iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro

As with the previous model, the iPhone 16 is also available in four different versions: In addition to the regular model, a Plus device and two iPhone 16 Pro will be available. Fans can look forward to larger screens here: The iPhone 16 Pro has a screen diagonal of 6.3 inches (previously 6.1), and the iPhone 16 Pro Max even has a screen diagonal of 6.9 inches (previously 6.7).

There are also new A18 processors, new camera functions, a new recording button and more. All four models now have an action button, which is located on the left side below the volume control. In the 15th generation, only the Pro models had this feature. You can use it, for example, to mute the smartphone or assign a shortcut that calls up the camera or the flashlight with one click.

But it doesn’t stop there, another new button is responsible for controlling the camera and is located on the right side under the power button. This allows you to trigger the camera and control it with gestures. iPhone fans will also have to get used to it at the beginning.

Apple Intelligence is initially only available in the US

Of course, Apple is also following suit with the new Google and Samsung models and is placing great emphasis on artificial intelligence. The four iPhones 16 are equipped with the iOS 18 operating system, which offers Apple Intelligence. The AI ​​has numerous functions such as a better Siri, writing tools or Genmojis. However, Apple Intelligence will not initially be available in the EU; initially only US citizens will be allowed to use the tool.

New Apple Watches Pre-order now

In addition to smartphones, there will also be new smartwatches for iOS fans: The Apple Watch is turning 10 and will be called Apple Watch Series 10. Charging is also faster; according to Apple, just 15 minutes of charging is enough for 8 hours of normal use.

Also new: The Apple Watch Ultra 2 in black. There are no differences here other than the black version, just new straps. The health functions of the Apple Watch have been further improved – the watch is now able to detect repeated cessation of breathing during sleep, known as sleep apnea. AirPods Pre-order the fourth generation now

The new Airpods are finally here – even in two versions.

An entry-level model replaces the older second-generation AirPods and offers a new design and a USB-C housing. The second set dates the third-generation AirPods and uses active noise cancellation for the first time. This was previously reserved for the AirPods Pro. The popular over-ear headphones AirPods Max have also received an update; they can now be conveniently charged using a USB-C cable.

An H2 chip is designed to better block out ambient noise during phone calls, and the battery charge is enough for a full 30 hours of listening pleasure.
