The Austrian ski racer Vanessa Nussbaumer has celebrated her comeback on the slopes after a long injury break. The 25-year-olds, who had a serious fall during downhill training in Copper Mountain last winter, were back on skis for the first time nine months later. In the fall, Nussbaumer suffered a broken tibia and fibula in her right lower leg, which significantly delayed her sporting breakthrough.

After intensive rehabilitation, the Vorarlberg native returned to the ski slopes at the Stilfserjoch. These first steps on snow mark an important moment in her recovery. On Instagram, Nussbaumer shared her joy at her return and emphasized how happy she was to be back on skis. Despite her positive attitude, the road back to full competitive form is still long, and Nussbaumer is aware that she still has a lot of work ahead of her.
