LIVE UPDATES: Final countdown before Trump-Harris debate in Philly

The final hours are ticking away before Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump face off in their first – and possibly only – debate on Tuesday night.

The debate will take place at 9 p.m. at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. ABC will host the debate. David Muir and Linsey Davis will moderate the debate. The debate will be the first time Harris and Trump have met in person.

The highly anticipated debate can be watched on ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and PBS. Disney+, Hulu and the ABC app will also stream the debate.

Governor Tim Walz will attend political events in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday and will deliver a speech at 5:30 p.m.

What polls say ahead of the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump

Kamala Harris is ahead of Donald Trump in poll averages ahead of their first debate, but projections suggest the vice president may not win in November.

Before the event, scheduled to take place tonight at 9 p.m. ET in Philadelphia, some polls had Harris in the lead. For example, the latest Big Village poll, conducted between September 6 and 8, shows Harris five percentage points ahead of Trump among likely voters, at 49 percent, while he has 44 percent.
