Darts: VIDEO: Marcel Walpen defeats Stefan Bellmont with impressive numbers

The 17th tournament of the SDC Tour 2024 was held on Saturday. Marcel Walpen managed to beat the Austrian René Kern 7-4 in the final. Even though winning the tournament is what counts in the end, it was probably Walpen’s path to the final that made an impression.

In the round of 16, Walpen faced his World Cup of Darts 2023 teammate – and currently arguably the best darts player in Switzerland – Stefan Bellmont. On Saturday, Walpen managed to beat Belli 4-2 thanks to an average of 102.61.

The really impressive statistics also look like this. Walpen finished the match with a 12-darter, two 14-darters and a 17-darter. In total, he threw eleven 100+ shots, five 140s and two 180s.

But Bellmont, who won his legs in 14 and 17 darts, also had good numbers. With nine shots of 100+, three 140s and two 180s – the same number as his opponents – he kept up well.
