More than two years in prison – that is the sentence against the footballer.

In November, the footballer got into his car while drunk, caused an accident – and killed a four-year-old boy. He was convicted in court, but appealed against the verdict. Now it’s clear: Vloet is starting his prison sentence!

Rai Vloet withdraws his objection

In 2021, Vloet races along a Dutch highway at 203 kilometers per hour, shortly before drinking two or three glasses of schnapps. He drove into a car carrying a family of four at a speed of 130 km/h, killing one child and seriously injuring the other three passengers.

Two years later, the accident caught up with Vloet: the 29-year-old was found guilty by a court in his home country and was sentenced to two and a half years behind bars. But Vloet appealed and continued his career at FC Ural in Russia. In the summer, he returned to the Netherlands and withdrew his appeal. The striker wanted to take responsibility for his crime and serve his prison sentence! He also had to pay a fine of several hundred thousand euros.
