ZEASN now Whale TV | Advanced TV

Whale TV has announced its new brand identity as part of the company’s initiative to establish itself as a consumer-centric brand. With over 41 million monthly active users of its TV operating system, Whale TV enables consumers around the world to discover and watch entertainment. Since the company’s inception in 2011, Whale TV has previously been marketed exclusively to TV brands and factories. The independent TV operating system said it has now set sail to increase awareness and preference among TV brands and consumers and popularize its smart and simple TV operating system.

“We want to provide a better TV experience for everyone and firmly believe that smart TVs should give viewers a smarter, more personalized and more intuitive TV experience. By creating a more seamless, intuitive and consumer-focused experience, our TV operating system makes it infinitely easier to find, discover and enjoy TV shows,” said Jason He, CEO of Whale TV.

At the same time, Whale TV is bundling its owned and operated free TV streaming services rlaxx TV and Whale Live into a new service called Whale TV+. Whale TV+ will be fully integrated into the next version of Whale TV with the launch of Whale OS 10. Over time, Whale TV+ will also be available on various other TV streaming platforms. The deeper integration with the operating system makes it easier for consumers to find free entertainment and helps content providers achieve meaningful engagement with their entertainment offering. Whale TV+ will enable viewers to stream thousands of hours of free TV, both live and on-demand.

“The licensable TV operating system market is heating up quickly and Whale TV is probably one of the best kept secrets in the industry. To position ourselves well for the future, I believe that in addition to increasing our scale, we need to build a brand that is recognized and preferred by TV brands, content providers, advertisers and consumers. Rather than making incremental changes, we made the bold decision to start with a blank canvas. This makes the core of Whale TV’s brand narrative so simple that it will spread faster,” said Mike Duin, VP Marketing & Communications at Whale TV.

Whale TV also announced the next generation of its popular standalone TV operating system: Whale OS 10. The new content-first UX design has fewer menu layers and helps consumers explore entertainment in a more personalized way through AI-powered recommendations. Whale OS 10 allows consumers to seamlessly navigate to their favorite TV shows, whether they are streamed, broadcast, or playing on a connected device. Whale OS 10 is expected to ship in the first half of 2025.

New in Whale OS 10 is the integration of the free TV streaming service Whale TV+, powered by Whale TV, at the operating system level. On Whale TV+, consumers will find a wealth of free entertainment in various genres, both live and on-demand. In the live section, hundreds of live TV channels are available in categories such as news, sports, TV series, movies and music.

Whale TV’s AI-powered recommendations and voice search are designed to help consumers get to their favorite activities faster. Powered by ChatGPT and supporting large language models, Whale TV’s voice assistant generates better recommendations and allows users to have a more conversational interaction with their TV compared to others.

“We play a central role in enabling consumers to seamlessly navigate the streaming world, but also in giving content partners and advertisers the ability to reach engaged viewers,” commented He. “Licensing a TV operating system is simply the only way forward for most TV brands. We bring 13 years of experience and are able to deliver a TV operating system that is ready for global deployment and has been tried and tested in millions of homes.”
