Tennis – TMT: Panzenböck and Krippel celebrate home victories in Traisen

As always in Traisen, the active culinary enthusiasts were spoiled – venison stew, goulash, Indian curry and much more were on the menu. The sporting standard was as high as usual and it was a very successful tournament, especially for the home team.

In the women’s final, two of the best players on the tour faced each other. The two Traisner players Sarah Panzenböck and Lisa Rockenbauer put up a tough fight and delighted the spectators with great rallies and winners. In the end, Panzerböck was able to prevail with 6:4, 6:4. In the men’s competition, Nico Krippel secured the first tournament victory in the open men’s competition on the Tennis Master Tour. In the final, he defeated the Frankenfelser section leader Simon Prack in two sets.

The TC Harland was able to celebrate a special double. Emily Wieseneder, who is only 15 years old, managed to win both the ITN 7.5 and 9 competitions. In the 7.5, she beat the strong Judenau player Bettina Hagen 6:3, 6:3 in the final. In the 9, she beat the surprise of the tournament, Andrea Bernold, 6:1, 6:0.

A TMT legend from the very beginning won the competition via ITN 5. David Gruber from Mank was in a class of his own and took his second tournament victory in 2024. In the final he defeated Philipp Herzog 6:2, 6:4. In the 6.5 and 8 competitions a newcomer started off and won both competitions. Rene Reiter from Mariazell won the 6.5 final against Marco Pointner from Upper Austria 7:5, 7:5. In the 8 final he beat youngster Xaver Handl 6:3, 6:3.

In the men’s doubles, Dominik Mitterböck was once again unbeatable. Alongside Florian Schweiger, he won the final against Pascal Pigall/Lukas Kuhn 6:4, 6:4 and celebrated his 18th title of the season. Number 19 followed shortly afterwards. Together with Norbert Latsch, he won it in the competition over ITN 10. In the final, they defeated Lukas Kuhn/Michael Dürr 6:1, 6:1. Mitterböck secured the hat trick and tournament victory number 20 in the mixed doubles. With partner Jasmin Kirisits, she won the final against Nathalie Wenko/Konstantin Kotek 6:4, 6:3.
