Aurora Zurmühle (ITF 759) reached the final of the international J60 junior tournament at the TC Luzern Lido. After three wins in the semifinals, the 17-year-old from Rothenburg also defeated the top-seeded Russian Kseniia Ruchkina (14, ITF 477) 6:3, 4:6, 7:5. The tournament’s number 3 was 1:5 down in the deciding set, fended off no fewer than five match points, won six games in the series and left the court as the acclaimed winner. In the final against Elisa Rohrbach (15, ITF 640, France), the tournament’s number 2, Zurmühle again had to go over three sets, but ultimately deservedly won 6:4, 6:7 (4:7), 6:2, celebrating her first international tournament victory at the J60 level in front of her own tennis fans. This year, the Lucerne native won the first two J30 titles of her career in Dublin. Together with the German Insa Hetzel (15, ITF 912), Zurmühle also reached the doubles final in Lucerne, but lost to Ruchkina/Rohrbach 3:6, 3:6.
