NIA files charges against four persons in sensational Bengaluru cafe blast case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed charges against four persons linked to the infamous Rameshwaram cafe bombing in Bengaluru.

The accused, identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazib, Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taaha, Maaz Muneer Ahmed and Muzammil Shareef, were arrested earlier and are in judicial custody. The NIA stated that their backers funded Taaha and Shazib with cryptocurrencies to commit acts of violence in Bengaluru.

The investigation revealed plans for a failed IED attack on the state BJP office and other violent plots. The chargesheet, submitted before a special NIA court, related to a March 1 blast at Rameshwaram Cafe that injured nine people and caused extensive damage. Extensive investigations across multiple states led to the arrest of the accused and revealed their links with IS and involvement in radicalising youth.
