Vegetable truck overturned – A33 closed near Osnabrück

After an accident involving a vegetable truck, the A33 motorway between Osnabrück and Bielefeld has been closed since early this morning. “There is a full closure in both directions between the Harderberg and Borgloh junctions,” said a police spokesman. Three people were injured in the accident involving a car and two trucks, including two passengers in the vegetable truck.

A smaller truck collided with a car when it tried to overtake the larger vegetable truck. The car then collided first with the central guardrail and then with the vegetable truck. The truck overturned. According to police, the accident occurred in the direction of Bielefeld. The road will remain completely closed until midday in order to recover the vehicles that are no longer roadworthy and to repair the guardrail.

Pictures showed how numerous crates of vegetables, including cabbages, were scattered on the road. People were putting the vegetables into a large dumpster.
