“Who’s stealing my show?” dominates the start of the season

The new season of “Who’s Stealing My Show?” started on Sunday evening on ProSieben – and, as expected, the opening episode had an easy time against relatively harmless competition. An average of 970,000 viewers between the ages of 14 and 49 watched the show – only the “Tagesschau” reached a higher reach among young audiences on Sunday.

The market share of “Who’s Stealing My Show?” was a strong 21.0 percent. By comparison: a “Tatort” repeat was the closest competitor with 13.4 percent, while the other private channels even remained in single figures. A small downside: overall, the ProSieben show reached 1.30 million viewers at the start of the season, the lowest reach to date since the new switch from Tuesday to Sunday evening, where the market share was 6.2 percent. “Who’s Stealing My Show?” thus also appealed to a very young audience.

But people in Unterföhring can also be satisfied with Sat.1, which was probably also founded on the fact that not only was there no blockbuster on ProSieben on Sunday evening, but RTL – thanks to the NFL – had no film competition either. As a result, “Independence Day: Resurgence” reached an average of 1.68 million people at 8:15 p.m., a very good 9.6 percent market share in the target group. The previous evening, “Julia Leischik sucht: Bitte melde dich” achieved a similarly convincing 9.3 percent. Here, an average of 2.04 million viewers were there.

The new summer season of “Grill den Henssler” got off to a promising start, reaching 1.14 million viewers on Vox, but clearly losing out to “Wer stand mir die Show?” in the target group with a market share of just 6.0 percent. However, Kabel Eins and RTLzwei only played a minor role: while “Die Lieblingsmarken der Deutschen” remained pale on Kabel Eins with a market share of 3.4 percent, “King Kong” also struggled on RTLzwei with a market share of just 3.5 percent.

In terms of the total audience, the public broadcasters were unbeatable: The “Tagesschau” came in first with 5.93 million viewers on Das Erste, followed by “Tatort”, which had a market share of 22.7 percent with 5.83 million. On ZDF, an old “Frühling” episode reached 3.81 million people. “Terra Prozent convinced.
