For Sabine Lisicki, there is “nothing bigger” than being pregnant. The tennis player is now holding her first child in her arms. The 34-year-old proudly posted a photo of her daughter on Instagram – and also revealed her name. What will happen on the court after the birth has also already been decided.

Shortly before her 35th birthday, tennis player Sabine Lisicki has already received her best present: she announced on Instagram last night that she had become a mother for the first time. “Our hearts are filled with love and happiness as we are honored to welcome Bella into our world,” she wrote in her post, revealing her daughter’s name. She also posted a photo of her and her partner holding the child’s head in their hands.

Lisicki is keeping the father of the child a secret. From the end of 2013 to the beginning of 2016, she was in a relationship with comedian Oliver Pocher. All that is known about her current partner is that he is not from the tennis business. However, the couple are already engaged: “My boyfriend fell to his knees, it was a beautiful ritual. And since then I’ve had a beautiful piece of jewelry on my finger,” she said in an interview with “Bunte” in July.

In it, the 2013 Wimbledon finalist also revealed that the baby was an absolute dream child: “I’m really happy because I’m a complete family person. It’s always been my dream to have my own family,” she said. There is “nothing greater” than being pregnant. “I love children,” the professional athlete made clear. However, pregnancy is also “hard work” and “a physical” challenge. For example, she struggled with unusual tiredness.

After the birth, Lisicki will return to professional sport. “Yes, there will be a comeback,” she confirmed to “Bunte”. But it is important “that I am physically well and totally fit.” She had to take a long break due to a knee injury, but then made her comeback in 2022. She last played in Dubai in December 2023. Lisicki immediately received congratulations on the birth of her daughter from tennis colleagues such as former national coach Barbara Rittner and player Eva Lys. German model Franziska Knuppe also welcomed Bella via an Instagram comment.
