Man robbed and pushed into water in park on the Spree

Berlin – A 30-year-old man was the victim of a robbery in the Berlin district of Friedrichshain.

Witnesses heard a splash in the park on the Spree at around 3 a.m. on Sunday night and called the police, the authority said.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered the 30-year-old in the chest-deep water of the river.

According to reports, he was unable to climb back over the wall under his own power.

The man told police he wanted to help a screaming woman.

When he called the emergency services, a group of people stole his shoulder bag and pushed him into the water, it was reported. Witnesses helped him out again. The man was unharmed. The police have taken over the investigation.
