Floral Manufactory in Gallneukirchen will in future focus on “regional materials and sustainability”

Floral Manufactory in Gallneukirchen will in future focus on “regional materials and sustainability”

GALLNEUKIRCHEN/UNTERWEITERSDORF. Elisabeth Reichl, who was born in Alberndorf, is taking the step into self-employment on Tuesday, October 1st and is opening the flower shop “Florale Manufaktur” in Gallneukirchen. Today, the 40-year-old lives in Unterweitersdorf: “Regional materials and sustainability are important to me.” Tips lost a 50-euro voucher for the opening.

She loves spending time with her family in the in-house garden in Gusental, where she grows vegetables and flowers. “My career as a florist began when I was 16 in the Friedenshort nursery in Gallneukirchen. Most recently, I also worked in Gallneukirchen. In 2022, I completed my master craftsman’s examination, including an entrepreneur course. “I also took a course to become a wine expert,” reports the mother of three boys.

Independence meets challenges

But the Mühlviertel native never actually dreamed of owning her own business: “I’ve always admired those who were brave enough to do something on an independent basis.” Soon, on October 1st, Reichl will open her own flower shop: “At 8 a.m.” A friend from vocational school will support her, as will a temporary worker: “We’re approaching the peak season of the florist year – All Saints Day and Advent – so you can use skilled hands.” What does the 40-year-old value? “Local materials, such as brushwood. And sustainability. You often don’t have to cut anything specially, but can conjure up something great from the remains of hedges that have already been trimmed.” She adds: “There are plenty of low-budget flowers in the supermarket. But florists offer handwork, quality and also give lots of practical tips – for example on permanent greenery and how plants can survive the winter.”

The florist reports: “We flower shops have it hard enough these days – every supermarket is selling plants, cut flowers, decorations, Advent wreaths and grave arrangements at low budget prices.” I hope for my future and for the future of all flower shops that people will give themselves and handcraft a chance to appreciate and support this value. Buy their bouquets in the flower shop again – entrust the Advent arrangement or grave arrangement to florists who love their job and fulfill floral dreams with professional competence and know-how.”

Will there be a particular trend color in terms of plants and decorations this autumn? “Everything with color is in demand,” says Reichl clearly in response to Tips’ request, but in the same breath emphasizes: “However, it is much more important to me how regional products can be prepared in a way that suits the customer. Added value is simply important to me.”

Wine, tea and chocolate

From October 1st, Reichl, who is herself an enthusiastic musician, will not only be selling flowers in her shop, she will also be offering a small culinary selection of tea, wine, chocolate, oil and spices: “I will be selling everything in the shop that I love myself. Good food and drink as well as small gifts especially for musicians. “I love giving personal gifts and I love shops that have something for pretty much every taste,” reveals the 40-year-old.
