In an exciting match in the 4th round of the 2nd class Waldviertel Zentral (Lower Austria), UFC Arbesbach was able to secure a clear 3-0 victory against SV Weitra. At halftime, the moderators, in front of almost 190 spectators, were already leading 1-0. With a strong second half and two more goals from Sebastian Grudl and Josef Sindelar, Arbesbach extended their lead and ultimately secured the three points.

Early chances on both sides

It was already clear in the first few minutes that both teams were ready to play offensively. In the 6th minute, UFC Arbesbach had the first good chance when Josef Sindelar, SV Weitra goalkeeper Martin Schlögl, failed. Just a minute later, the guests from Weitra had a double chance, but this also went unused.

The game developed into an open exchange of blows in which neither team was able to prevail. In the 39th minute, Arbesbach finally managed to score the redeeming goal. After a corner, Weitra’s defense failed to clear the ball and David Hinterndorfer took the opportunity to push the ball in for a 1-0 lead.

Just two minutes later, Mathias Hinterndorfer in the Arbesbach goal had to use all his skills to thwart a great chance for the guests. He held on to the lead with a brilliant save and saved his team’s narrow half-time lead.

Weitra presses, Arbesbach scores

After the break, SV Weitra pushed for an equalizer. In the 56th minute, the pressure from the guests was noticeable, but the UFC Arbesbach defense held firm. Despite a good opportunity, Weitra failed to equalize, as the finish was not a big challenge for Mathias Hinterndorfer.

In the 63rd minute, it was UFC Arbesbach who were celebrating again. Sebastian Grudl shot from a distance and his shot landed unstoppably in the bottom left corner. With the 2-0 lead behind them, the moderators played with a sense of freedom, while the game continued to plod along.

UFC Arbesbach once again put the finishing touches to the match. In the 91st minute, Sebastian Grudl served his teammate Josef Sindelar with a dream pass, which he skillfully converted to make the final score 3-0. Shortly afterwards, referee Tomasz Romaniuk blew the final whistle after one minute of stoppage time.

Overall, the UFC Arbesbach showed a strong team performance and gave the guests from Weitra little chance to fight their way back into the game. Thanks to goals from David Hinterndorfer, Sebastian Grudl and Josef Sindelar, the Arbesbachers were able to celebrate a well-deserved victory and collect important points in the table of the 2nd class Waldviertel Zentral (Lower Austria).
