The PS5 Pro will offer 45% better rendering performance compared to the PS5 console. The PS5 currently comes with an AMD Radeon RX 6700, but the PS5 Pro will have something close to the Radeon RX 7800 XT. According to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, the PS5 Pro could offer three times the ray tracing performance, and in some cases it could go up to four times. The PS5 Pro would also have 576GB/s system memory, which is actually a 28% increase over the standard PS5. It would also have more powerful audio hardware that can handle better effects while gaming. The CPU would be the same as the standard PS5, but it would have a “high frequency option” that increases the clock speed up to 3.85GHz. That’s a 10% performance increase over the PS5, and would definitely help run technically demanding games like GTA 6 with all the effects. However, there is a small catch here, as Henderson mentions that enabling the high frequency option for the CPU in the PS5 Pro would actually slow down the GPU by 1.5%. Sony is offering developers the option to choose between the standard 3.5GHz CPU or a high-frequency 3.85GHz CPU. Games will be allocated an additional 1.2GB of memory on the PS5 Pro, which is 13.7GB compared to the 12.5GB allocated to games on the standard PS5 console. With the high-frequency option, the PS5 Pro will come with a more powerful GPU and a slightly faster CPU. For certain titles like GTA 6, the PS5 Pro could achieve higher frame rates and higher resolutions.

So overall, the PS5 Pro offers a significant improvement over the PS5 and will help players run technically demanding games like GTA 6 at higher frame rates and resolutions. The PS5 Pro is expected to launch sometime next week and at this launch, we will learn all about its specifications, design and features.
